The Jesus Trail is a 65 km  trail in the Galilee region of Israel which connects important sites from the life of Jesus as well as other historical and religious sites. The trail offers an alternative for travelers and pilgrims to experience the steps of Jesus through the rugged and beautiful landscape of the Galilee.

 

 

First day:

• After a visit by foot to the Church of the Annunciation we will start our ride from the top of the Nazareth ridge, down to the ancient city of Tsipori, the district capital at the time of Christ    and a fascinating archaeological site, famous for its mosaics.

• Kafer Kanna, where Jesus performed his first miracle, there we will have lunch and visit the church of the wedding, where Jesus have turned water into wein.

• Overnight at Kibbutz Lavi.

 

Second day:

• From Lavi to Karnei Hitim, where the crucial battle between the Crusaders and Moslems took place in 1187, the  lost of the Crusaders in this battle ended the first Crusaders kingdom.

• Mount. Arbel, a cliff above the sea of Galilee valley with a stunning view. then we will roll down to the sea (actually a lake), refresh our selves and have lunch at the beach of Ginosar.  

• The Igal Alon museum with the ancient boat, dated to the time of Jesus.

• Sail to Tabgha ('seven springs') and visit the churches of Bread & Fishes and Petrus primary.

• Capernaum, home place of Petrus.

• Optional: Church of beatitudes (according to time and weather).

 

 

Note:

• The tour is not suitable for high summer (July & August).

• It's recomemmded to arrive Nazareth the day before for site seeing, then we can start riding early in the morning.
